25th Anniversary Celebrations Antoinette and Angela first opened the doors of a + a recruitment on 31st May 1986. Two Mum’s with an ambition to start a new career which would still enable them to look after their four young children. a + a actually started off from Angela’s dining room where we made numerous phone calls, sent out introduction letters and slowly but surely built up a client base. Six months later we moved into the back of an insurance office at 100a After three years we moved to larger premises in The new millennium saw a new look for a + a recruitment with a modern logo and a move to larger offices in Over the next eleven years we saw big changes in Employment Legislation and sadly the demise of several large local companies. We have unfortunately, in our 25 years, experienced 3 recessions and one major setback when a blue chip client company went into liquidation. However in our view these challenges served to make us stronger. We feel the success of a + a recruitment has been due to the fact that we have stuck to our principals, never overstretched ourselves, and by staying true to our Vision Statement “To attain a justified reputation for placing quality temporary and permanent candidates with highly reputable caring clients and to become the most respected supplier of services and products in the area.” We have an excellent team who all share our vision and work hard to achieve our Mission Statement “To provide a professional and personal service to both client and candidate” “To place quality workers with highly reputable companies and promote the integration of local skills with the local job market” “To retain the competitive edge by incorporating the most cost effective methods” Both Angela and Antoinette have also worked tirelessly over the years to “give back” both locally and nationally, Chairing the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, Network Gold and Ashby Partnership, and supporting many local charities. With still greater changes to employment law we thought an excellent way to mark our 25th Anniversary would be to host a luncheon for our clients where two top figures in the recruitment world Kevin Green and Tom Hadley would give a presentation with the most up-to-date information. We will also be having ‘a knees up’ with the staff who clock up a joint 50 years service, as a big thank you to them for their hard work and commitment. We are very proud to have achieved our ambition and it is very rewarding to know that we are now placing third generation local candidates with local companies in both temporary and permanent positions and to have become the most respected Employment Agency in the area. We would like to take this opportunity to give our special thanks to all the clients, candidates, friends, family and members of staff who have supported us throughout and helped us achieve 25 years of successful business. Antoinette and Angela look forward to a + a recruitment remaining at the forefront of the Local Business Community in Ashby de la Zouch and the surrounding area’s for many years to come. |
