Alderwood Education exceeds expectations and launches new search service

Alderwood Education exceeds expectations and launches new search service

Despite only half a year on the recruitment circuit, the team at Alderwood Education has ticked several boxes: doubling in size; boasting a database of over 40,000 active education and training jobseekers, which is anticipated to swell to over 60,000 by August this year; setting up a schools department to place Supply Teachers across Hampshire, Berkshire & West Sussex and also exceeding their financial targets.

But that does not mean that the team members are resting on their laurels.  Alderwood Education, recruitment specialists in Work-Based Learning, Employability & Welfare to Work Sectors and Schools, Colleges & Supply have a busy few months ahead by setting up a new brand to focus on senior level appointments - Alderwood Executive.  Alderwood Executive, launching in April, will focus on recruiting at senior manager, director and board level within the Education & Training industries.  Its products and services have been specifically tailored following in depth research with senior level industry figures in order to guarantee that they are both responsive to the needs of the industry and able to secure the best talent.

The industry sectors in which Alderwood Education operates have seen huge changes over the past few months, particularly in the work-based learning sphere.  The Government's announcement of 100,000 additional apprenticeship places by 2014 has meant that there is increased calling for vocationally experienced assessors. However the focus is now increasingly on outcomes for learners and employers, rather than tick-box training and as such, the selection criteria for Assessors has become harsher.  Alderwood Education has redefined its selection and assessment process in order to take this into consideration and in the last six months have placed over 150 assessors.

In addition, Alderwood Education is increasing its capability in Welfare to Work through working in conjunction with senior level figures within the industry. This is in preparation for the commencement of the Government's Work Programme later this year, when it will be working with both Prime and Sub-Contractors in order to recruit delivery level staff and senior appointments.

Anton Roe, Director of Alderwood Education, added:  "We are delighted to be in such a strong position and believe the key to our success is having a deep understanding of the niche industries in which we work so we can truly understand our client's requirements.  In order to enhance this, we have taken on staff directly from the industry we are recruiting for - which we believe has given us the edge in a tough economic climate.

"The next few months are set to see more change, and hopefully plenty of growth, for our company.  With Vince Cable's recent pledge of £1.4 billion into Apprenticeship schemes and the start of the Work Programme, we are looking forward to throwing ourselves behind this investment, placing the right people in the right jobs, watching the already high level of apprenticeships soar and, ultimately, unemployment levels drop."
