Anne Corder Recruitment offers bespoke service to help smooth introduction of Agency Workers Regulations

Independent agency Anne Corder Recruitment has launched a new initiative to help businesses ensure they are fully compliant with a far-reaching new employment law being introduced this year.

The deadline for the introduction of the new rules being brought into force by the Agency Workers Regulations is October 1, 2011. From then, all temporary workers on assignment with the same company for more than 12 weeks will be entitled to equal treatment as comparable permanent members of staff.

Recruitment partners at ACR, based in Park Road, Peterborough, have been working closely with the industry body, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), placing them perfectly to advise businesses in the Greater Peterborough area on the effects of the AWR.

The agency is now offering to work with individual businesses to develop a bespoke Impact Assessment. As well as helping resolve issues and answer questions, each Impact Assessment will provide a strategy for the introduction of any necessary new procedures to ensure businesses remain compliant.

“The introduction of the Agency Workers Regulations is likely to create one of the biggest impacts we’ve ever had in terms of employment law,” said ACR recruitment partner Karen Dykes. “Every company which uses temporary workers will need to consider their terms and procedures.

“Unfortunately, there is still some confusion surrounding the regulations – particularly in connection with the benefits which are covered. Our work with the REC puts us in direct contact with those working out the finer details – information which is vital to businesses. We are offering to work with companies so they can be sure they are receiving the right information and the right advice too. If we don’t know the definitive answer to their question, we know the person who does.

“We hope that by providing this service now, by the time the deadline for the introduction of the regulations comes round in October, our clients will not only have in place all the necessary checks and procedures but staff will already be fully briefed and conversant with using them.”
