Anne Corder Recruitment pledges 12 months support to forest initiative

Staff at Anne Corder Recruitment  will be donning wellies and wielding spades after pledging a year of support to the Forest for Peterborough initiative.

Every time a candidate is placed in a permanent role in 2011, the agency will plant a tree in conjunction with Peterborough Environment City Trust - which is spearheading the campaign.

The agency will be kicking of its support at the next official ceremony later this month by planting a tree for each member of the team – and they’ve all promised to get involved in planting their own tree.

“We wanted to mark the start of our year of support for the project by getting everyone in the team involved and this is the perfect way to do it,” said Anne Corder. “During the year, each candidate placed in a permanent role will receive a certificate saying a tree will be planted in recognition of their successful application. It’s not just candidates moving into entirely new roles either – those who move from being temporary to permanent or contracted employees taken on permanently will also have their ‘own tree’.”

The ambitious plan to create a Forest for Peterborough was launched by tv personality and eco campaigner Clive Anderson last November. The project is aiming to engage businesses and groups across the city in planting pockets of trees to create ‘green corridors’ improving the environment for residents and giving local wildlife a welcome boost.

ACR, which is based in Park Road, Peterborough with a satellite office in Lynch Wood, has worked closely with Pect on a number of campaigns and the agency’s latest pledge has been welcomed by the charity.

“We are delighted that Anne Corder Recruitment is backing the project,” said Nyree Ambarchian – Pect’s marketing and communications manager. “Our mission to plant a Forest for Peterborough can only be achieved with support from businesses. ACR is once again demonstrating its commitment to the environment by supporting this project. We love the idea that as the agency helps the city grow by matching employers and employees they are also helping to nurture the city’s wildlife.”
