Another new addition to the ZootAlore! team

BARNSLEY-based recruitment and training specialists, the ZootAlore! Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Shaw as Head of Curriculum Development

Another new addition to the ZootAlore! team

BARNSLEY-based recruitment and training specialists, the ZootAlore! Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Shaw as Head of Curriculum Development, just a week after welcoming a new web developer to its team.

Joanne, 31, previously worked for Rotherham based educational media company U-Explore and will be responsible for introducing new projects to the ZootAlore! education portfolio such as summer schools and vocational sixth forms.

With a particular interest in the young, particularly those who special educational needs, Joanne’s first task is to develop a range of learning programmes that will aim to improve the education and employability of learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.

She said: “I am thrilled to have joined such a vibrant, enthusiastic team at ZootAlore! and to have such varied and challenges roles given to me. My passion has always been to help and support young people both in mainstream and special education needs (SEN) settings to achieve their potential and I believe that the projects I am now creating will significantly help them all to do just that.”

Adrian Oldfield, Chief Executive at ZootAlore!, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Joanne to the ZootAlore! team. Joanne brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge and is a fantastic asset to the company, as we continue striving to help all young people achieve success.

“I am looking forward to Joanne developing new programmes which will help change the lives of young people, particularly those with special educational needs.”

Joanne, whom has seven years of teaching experience, has taught Secondary English at Ordsall Hall School in Retford and has also worked at a school for children aged 8-19 with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in English from Staffordshire University and a PGCE in Secondary English from Nottingham Trent University. 

The ZootAlore! Group is a rapidly growing network of companies with a main focus on improving the life chances of the young. It has recently launched the non-profit organisation, the Big Academy, in a bid to get all young people ‘inspired to achieve’.
