APSCo appoints 2011 Executive Committee

Committee gains eight new members

Fiercely contested election

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has elected its new Executive Committee for 2011, which includes eight new members who will be sitting on the Committee for the first time.

The election was fiercely contested, with 22 candidates competing for places on the Committee.

The eight new Executive Committee members are:

Ashleigh Fitzgerald of Montreal Associates

Gavin Crocker of GR Law

Graeme Read of Antal International

John Mortimer of Angela Mortimer

Miles Hunt of Empresaria Group

Paul Farrer of Aspire Global Network

Sean Zimdahl of Aston Carter

Victoria Maloney of SThree

Re-elected to serve on the Committee are Alan Rommel, Parity Resources, Stephen Rookes, NES Group, Emma Brierley, Xchangeteam, Tara Ricks, Joslin Rowe Associates, Uzair Bawany, Contact Recruitment and to represent affiliate members Raymond Pennie, Kamanchi.

In addition to the elected members John O’Sullivan is co-opted to represent Elite Leaders and Graham Palfery-Smith to act as APSCo ambassador.

Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, says: “The election to the Committee this year was fiercely contested. I have always said that APSCo belongs to the professional staffing sector and this sense of ownership is reflected in the huge appetite amongst members to be involved in running their trade association.”

“It’s testament to the kudos which serving on the APSCo Executive Committee bestows on members that the election is always so competitive.”

“I am thrilled with the standard of our new Committee. They have a hugely impressive knowledge of the professional recruitment market across a broad range of sectors.”

She adds: “I would like to thank those Executive Committee members whose terms on the Committee have come to an end. They have done a tremendous job of driving the growth of APSCo over the past year. They have given generously of their valuable time while managing their businesses during challenging economic conditions.”
