Barclay Meade aims to reduce risk in the actuarial recruitment process with launch of specialist division

Leading professional staffing recruitment consultancy Barclay Meade, part of the Matchtech Group, has today launched a service for clients and candidates in the actuarial sector to meet growing demand for specialist recruitment services within the industry.

While the need for actuarial resources is always high, Solvency II, the EU-legislation affecting the insurance industry which is due to come into effect on 31st December 2012, has seen demand increase further.

The new division is to be headed up by principal consultant, Eve Hartridge. Eve, who joined Barclay Meade from a leading UK-based insurance and actuarial recruitment firm, brings with her more than 11 years’ experience of recruiting in this niche sector.

Eve says: “In an industry that is adverse to risk, we hope to take the gamble out of the recruitment process for candidates and clients with our wealth of specialist knowledge and experience. Although our brand name may be new, our reputation precedes us.

“It’s a real privilege to be working with such an incredibly passionate team of experts who all personify Barclay Meade’s proposition of providing true client understanding alongside industry insight. Our aim is to earn a reputation in the sector for consistently delivering the best talent to our clients and providing the most rewarding job opportunities for our candidates.”

With the introduction of the actuarial division, Barclay Meade adds to its growing portfolio of recruitment specialisms including financial services and accountancy, which the firm has built up over the past eight months since it opened in August 2010.

Mark McFall, director of financial services at Barclay Meade, comments: “With the appointment of Eve to head up the actuarial division, Barclay Meade is building on its philosophy of recruiting sector specialists to lead expert teams with extensive knowledge of the recruitment industry.

“Barclay Meade is aiming to make the recruitment process more effective and efficient by delivering in-depth industry insight together with true client understanding. We believe our unique principles and culture, which are rooted in making the recruitment process more personal, will provide a better experience for everyone involved.”
