Business is thriving for Towngate Personnel

BUSINESS is getting back on its feet again, according to Bournemouth-based recruitment consultancy Towngate Personnel.

The hospitality and catering industry specialists have just been selected to supply staff to Millennium and Copthorne hotels in the UK.

“It was a prolonged and complex selection process which we’re delighted to have come through,” says Towngate Personnel’s James Tucker.

“This is a multi-national company with more than 100 four-and five-star hotels worldwide and they are looking to recruit some 400 positions in the UK alone over the next 12 months.”

James says the new contract is just one of many encouraging signs that business is finding its way out of the economic downturn.

“Certainly in the hotel sector our clients are finding the conference and training business is coming back and we’ve been asked to fill double the number of positions than this time last year. I think where businesses struggled in 2009 and took stock in 2010, they are starting to bounce back as we go into the new year.

“We have also seen new hotel openings pick up in the last few months – we’ve got one new client opening a number of hotels in London this year– while other major clients are reporting an upturn.”

And it’s not just hotels, things are looking up for the bar and restaurant sector as well.

“We also have a division that deals exclusively with the bars and restaurants and that is doing more business than ever before.

“So for anyone looking for new opportunities in the hospitality industry, this is a great time to register with Towngate.”

“We ourselves are looking to increase our staff numbers this year by recruiting six new consultants across all our divisions.”
