Change Recruitment Group announces plans to increase workforce by 30 per cent

Scotland’s largest independent financial services specialist and the UK’s leading international recruiter, Change Recruitment Group, is to increase its 100 strong workforce by 30 per cent across its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices by April 2012.

Change’s employment drive comes after the company recorded a record turnover of £14.7 million for the 2010/11 financial year – a 51 per cent increase in annual turnover on the 2009/10 figure of £9.8 million.

The new posts will be across Change’s domestic and international divisions. Both departments remained buoyant throughout the recession due to the company making significant inroads into emerging foreign markets, alongside benefitting from Scotland’s reputation as a centre of excellence in the financial sector.

During the next financial year, Change intends to build on this success by investing heavily in new staff and training, with the firm looking to hire its own internal trainer.

Change has put employee engagement to the forefront, recently implementing a staff toolkit, designed to engage employees, develop their skills and encourage them to progress within the organisation.

In addition, Change has increased holiday entitlements, introduced health and life cover and brought in flexible working initiatives that will allow staff to achieve a better work/life balance.

Chief Executive, Suzanne Ramsay, who in 2006 led the £14 million management buy out of the company, said:

“Through diversifying our business and expanding our offering beyond the domestic market, Change has seen considerable growth and outperformed on the previous financial year.

“Since launching our international division we have expanded our services considerably from our initial focus on accountancy recruitment. The international division now encompasses financial services, HR, legal consultants and oil and gas, which is our fastest growing area having trebled in size since May 2010. Change has also utilised a recent uplift in the domestic markets, by branching out into specialist IT recruitment within financial services, as well as re-establishing ourselves in the insurance market.

“Due to the expansion of our domestic and international services, we are now looking to expand both teams.”
