CITY RECRUITMENT MD TASTES THE “GOOD LIFE” IN REALITY TV SHOW

CITY RECRUITMENT MD TASTES THE “GOOD LIFE” IN REALITY TV SHOW

City based Financial Services Recruitment Managing Director, Mike Ogilvie, swaps his brogues for Wellington Boots this month as he gains a real taste of the “Good Life” in reality TV show, “A Farmer’s Life For Me” which airs Tuesday 1st February on BBC2 at 8pm.

In April 2010, Mike and his wife applied, along with 3,000 couples, to take part in this reality TV show about farming and were one of the final nine couples selected.

They escaped the rate race throughout the month of July when the series was filmed leaving the recruitment business in the capable hands of others whilst they moved into a caravan in a field in Ipswich. Couples competed during tasks, such as ploughing fields, butchering and building a small holding, all with the aim to win the chance to run their own farm for a year.

Mike comments; “My wife and I had no prior experience in farming whatsoever but just had a simple desire to live the “good life” and learn from new challenges. It was very challenging and real physical hard work, but we enjoyed every minute of taking part in the series learning new skills every day. It gave us a whole new perspective on life and we like to think new qualities we can both introduce into our businesses.”

The show is fronted by Jimmy Doherty, Jamie Oliver’s friend, who stars in “Jimmy’s Food Factory” and “Jimmy’s Farm” and runs weekly for the next eight weeks. We cannot reveal whether Mike and his wife are in fact the winners – you will have to keep watching to find out!

Mike Ogilvie started Ogilvie Search Ltd in March 2003 and the company has now grown into a successful city based, market leading Financial Services search firm specialising in the Compliance and Financial Crime markets.

Ogilvie Search Ltd is part of national recruitment and business services group, HR GO plc.
