Cogs Agency Grows by 50% during 2011 with New Hires and Internal Promotions -

Specialist digital recruiter Cogs Agency has grown by 50% during 2011, announcing the appointment of five new staff members and the promotion of one. The new hires strengthen Cogs Agency’s presence in the digital creative, media and marketing sector and will underpin future growth against a buoyant digital marketplace.

So far this year, Cogs Agency has hired:

Margaret Maupin, Commercial Operations Director – A former technology PR practitioner-turned recruiter, Margaret has 15 years experience and has held several senior roles within PR and recruitment, most recently as a Divisional Director with Xchangeteam. In her new role, Margaret is responsible for the overall day-to-day running of the company, particularly around compliance, process and sales. With her varied background, Margaret brings unique insight into the convergence of skills within the digital, communications and marketing sectors and will also oversee the growth of the company’s newest client-side team.

Naomi Da Costa, Senior Consultant, Creative Team – With eight years of experience in creative and media recruitment, Naomi joins Cogs from Major Players. She will specialise in placing freelance and permanent talent across all creative positions, including Junior Designers, Art/Creative Directors, Creative Teams and Information Architects for leading integrated and digital agencies.

Damien Bell, Senior Consultant, Client Services Team – With six years recruitment experience across the legal and PR sectors, Damien will specialise in placing freelance and permanent candidates into agency-side account management, strategy, planning and user experience roles.

Kelly Oatham, Accounts and Team Administrator – With 14 years experience in recruitment administration and support, Kelly will sit within Cogs Agency’s Operations Team, dealing with freelancer payments, client invoicing and other financial administration.

Dianne Hummal, Researcher, Technology Team – Dianne joined Cogs Agency from The Hospital Club in London. As a researcher within the technology team, Dianne is responsible for candidate generation and will specialise in freelance and permanent roles across the technical spectrum, including junior developers to tech directors, testers and QA’s.

Commenting on her move, Margaret Maupin said, ‘Digital skills are one of the most important tools in the modern job seeker’s portfolio, and the economic contribution from digital marketing, creative and communications businesses is huge. I am thrilled to have joined a company who is right in the middle of this space, and I chose Cogs Agency because of the quality of its senior leadership and staff, all of whom work in close collaboration and for the benefit of their candidates and clients alike.’

Cogs Agency is also pleased to announce the promotion of Kimberly Topham from Researcher to Consultant. With 3 years of experience, Kimberly places freelance and permanent candidates into technical roles, specialising in developers with specific skills across HTML5, iPhone/Android, JavaScript, ActionScript, PHP and .Net, to name a few.

Commenting on the company’s rapid growth, founder and Director Chris Frost said, ‘We’re pleased to have been able to grow our business this year in the midst of continued economic frustration. And, we’re happy to have attracted such a talented team, most of whom have chosen to join us from larger recruitment firms. Over the past year we’ve increased our market presence across every discipline we serve, and with the experience of our existing and new hires, we’re in a strong position to continue to provide the best digital talent to our clients.’
