CONNEX; ON UNDERSTANDING THE VALUE OF TRAINING IN GRADUATE RECRUITMENT

Leading education recruitment agency, Connex Education, have taken the latest steps to expansion by improving their training package for new graduates.

With the job market saturated, to say the least, at this moment in time it is up to employers to understand their prospective employees and vice versa. Connex have offered a training scheme for more than three years, which has improved year on year.

Graduate recruitment is all about candidate care - prepping, supporting and committing to a fast turnaround on feedback. Feedback also needs to be constructive, and in seeking out the best talent Connex have teamed up with job boards and universities across the country.

The idea of the trainee scheme is to have six months focused on sales training, allowing all trainees' to fully contribute to new ideas and approaches. Challenges and stimulations are the best way to start a career, and that is exactly what you get when following the training material.

Boasting locations in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and Warrington there are many opportunities within the company. The latest area for expansion is within the North West and Midlands areas.

Commenting on Connex’s continuing expansion and training scheme, Liz Vickers who is responsible for all internal recruitment within the company said: “"Company training is something that is really valued here at Connex. We fully recognise the importance of one to one sessions and continuous support. We have seen how that process can transform a good consultant into an exceptional one.

“The training package we offer, however can be misleading because candidates assume that they can take a back seat on certain duties because they have not received any training on the subject. The candidates we recruit need to have that ambition and common sense to get stuck in, training or not.

“For graduates to really get the best out of our training, they need to have qualities that simply cannot be taught- a drive to succeed, raw business acumen and an exceptional work ethic."

With an emphasis on work hard, play hard there is a lot to take from working for, and with, the recruitment specialists.

Successes mean that Connex are on the lookout for trainee recruitment consultants who are: passionate, motivated by money, thick skinned, degree educated and/or with sales experience, an understanding of education recruitment and a genuine interest in the sector.

With earnings of around £50k for the very best performers it is a lot of hard work but equally rewarding. If competitions, money and targets don't get you excited then this probably isn't going to be the career for you.

Have your say...
