Contractors Alumet win award for staff training

Improved performance, great staff morale, excellent client feedback and increased profits are some of the rewards reaped from staff training, according to Dean Walton, Director of Specialist façade contractor Alumet, who scooped the Accolade for Training and People Development at the recent Coventry and Warwickshire Business Awards.

The judges recognised Alumet's heavy investment in educating staff and the expansion of their Human Resource department.

The company were also commended for their investment in training facilities.  These include the construction of a dedicated training roof for their solar panel division EOS Energy. The roof is used to train staff and external clients on safe techniques for solar panel installations.

The company are particularly proud of their training progress within their solar panel division, EOS, for which they have had to create the training blueprint themselves.

Mr Walton explains : "We've experienced massive growth with our EOS division, but at the same time have struggled to find qualified individuals to recruit because the skill base simply doesn't yet exist.  As a result we are recruiting enthusiastic people across a range of professions and providing the required training ourselves."

The company received the award from Motorsport and former Top Gear presenter Quentin Willson in front of a packed audience at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Friday May 13th.
