Cooper Lomaz’s Jane Lovell to work with Norfolk’s Coastal Energy Forum

Following in the wake of the rapid development of coastal energy in North Norfolk, the North Norfolk Business Forum [NNBF] has set up a Coastal Energy Forum [CEF] to facilitate and co-ordinate its efforts to procure benefits for the people of the region.

The CEF has already recruited a number of people, amongst them, Jane Lovell, Joint CEO of Cooper Lomaz Recruitment.  Jane is already actively involved with the offshore wind industry, having established an offshore wind engineering team within Cooper Lomaz to work with the offshore wind farm operators and their turbine suppliers. She has over twenty years experience in engineering recruitment for companies in all the region’s key industry sectors and will be a valuable member of the forum.

Jane comments:  “It was agreed at the inaugural meeting of the CEF that our principal aim is to secure good jobs for the North Norfolk community as a result of coastal energy projects.  To do this, we have set ourselves the key task of gaining a full understanding of all current and planned energy projects in the Southern North Sea that could in any way benefit the local economy.  In this way, the forum can act as a knowledge and communications hub for both businesses and individuals.”

To achieve any success, it is important for the CEF to engage in manpower planning and skills mapping at an early stage.  At the same time, it needs to engage with the coastal energy supply chain and interact with local schools and colleges.

“Coastal energy will provide huge opportunities for North Norfolk,” Jane finishes by saying, “and we mustn’t let them slip through our fingers.  I’m very pleased to be part of an organisation that will co-ordinate efforts to maximise future benefits.”
