Disability survey exposes failings in recruitment processA survey carried out by The Clear Company on behalf of a DWP steering group, compared the recruiter and candidate experience when considering the issue of disability and inclusion in the UK workforce.More than 100 recruitment firms were invited to carry out the survey and 210 disabled candidates reviewed their experience of interacting with a recruitment agency. Results show the disparity of experience and perception: 78.9 per cent of recruiters felt they had ensured job descriptions were 'barrier free' 89.7 per cent believed they offered flexibility throughout the process for disabled candidates However... 74.1 per cent of candidates felt they were less likely to be offered a job if they mentioned their disability 51.8 per cent claim they were never offered support for reasonable adjustment A staggering 80 per cent said they would not or were unsure if they would use and agency again For more information, quotes from the Minister for Disability and other key speakers at an industry event on the subject please contact natalie@rmspr.co.uk |
