DRIVER HIRE SHARPENS ITS NATIONAL FOCUS

Driver Hire, the leading road transport and logistics specialist recruiter, is strengthening its highly successful National Accounts team with two internal appointments to senior management positions.

Peter Lawford will become National Sales Director with responsibility for the ongoing development of Driver Hire's core National Accounts business. Key to winning new business is the company’s bespoke managed service (MSP system), which introduces greater efficiency into the management of temporary recruitment. This is achieved by managing the booking, timesheet and invoice processes online.

Meanwhile, Graham Duckworth will be Divisional Director responsible for dh Logistics Appointments. A recent addition to Driver Hire’s roster of National Accounts’ services, dh Logistics Appointments offers a hassle free and cost effective recruitment service for customers wanting to recruit permanent white collar staff for a wide variety of senior management and management roles.

Commenting on the appointments, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive said: “National Accounts goes from strength to strength. It now accounts for 20% of our total annual revenue. That will be further increased as income from dh Logistics Appointments comes on stream. As for our core National Accounts service -- the provision of temporary staff -- we’ve invested heavily in our managed service software and that’s helping to deliver significant new business. To make the most of the many opportunities we encounter, we have decided that there should now be a director with specific responsibility for each of these areas.”

The UK’s largest specialist supplier, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or a peak in business demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement. It’s also the UK’s largest single supplier of Driver CPC training. It enjoyed a strong trading performance in 2010/11, increasing revenue by 22%. The company recently attracted new investors, LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Bank Group
