Eight REC members in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100

REC members featured prominently in yesterday’s Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 Report, which is the definitive league table of Britain’s fastest growing companies in terms of fastest growing sales.

Top member at 33 is the Pathology Group based in central London and is still the only specialist pathology recruitment consultancy in the world. It has seen its sales figures go up by nearly 90 per cent since it was founded in 2006. It also donates funds to Czech Republic hospitals to enable them to buy equipment.

At 46 on the list, social work and medical care specialist, Liquid Personnel based in Manchester has grown its sales by over 70 per cent since the business started in 2007, its co-founder selling his car to help fund its start-up.

Financial and accountancy business Oliver James Associates is at number 51 having seen its sales grow by more than 68 per cent since it was founded nine years ago by childhood friends James Rogers and Oliver Castle.

Bristol-based Timothy James Consulting at 66 has notched up over 60 per cent sales growth since 2003 in which time it has been helping to recruit finance directors for both public and private companies.

West Londonrecruitment business Intuition IT Solutions has two reasons to celebrate. Not only is it in at 72 with sales growing by nearly 58 per cent since it was started five years ago, it has also recently recorded its first ever £1 million turnover in a month.

Technology sector specialist Whitehall Resources, in the list for the first time at 77 has grown its sales 55.4 per cent since it was founded in Colchester in 2006 with a quarter of its turnover generated through placements overseas.

Kennedy Pearce Consulting at 84 makes placements at all levels across the accountancy and financial sectors from its Central London offices and has seen a 53 per cent growth in sales since its founding five years ago.

At 97, Thomson Keene Associates was started in the spare bedroom of its founder in 2002 and in that time, its sales growth has increased by 50.66 per cent within its specialist sectors of Engineering & Technical, Technology.

Commenting on their inclusion in the Fast Track 100 List, Neil Smith, the REC’s Chair, said: “It is very encouraging to see so many members included in the list, several of whom for the first time,  all of them having been established in the past ten years.

“Seeing members making headway while the economy is turbulent is yet another indication of how robust the UK’s private recruitment industry remains as the latest annual turnover survey shows with a bounce back of 25 per cent to £24.6 billion in the 12 month period ending in March this year.”
