EU calls for citizens to share their Pan European work experience on www.tellusyourstory.eu

The EU has launched a new website www.tellusyourstory.eu, to encourage citizens to share their stories of working and living abroad across the different countries in Europe. With feedback expected from hundreds of individuals across Europe, the aim is to influence the decisions on the future of the Single Market. This should encourage better economic collaboration, standardised rules and reduce the practical barriers to work in other countries in the EU.

The five individuals with the most interesting and striking stories will be invited to the Single Market Forum in Kraków, Poland on 2nd – 4th October where they will be able to participate in a film testimony to be shown at the conference.

So if you have faced cross-border challenges, which have been inconvenient in both personal or business life, the EU is calling for you to: 'Tell us your story!'

On another note, if you have received the support you needed, the EU also want to know.

Some challenges that could be the subject of a story:

o  Validation of my diploma and credentials in another European country
o  My national insurance security when going to live abroad
o  Obtaining my pension after I moved abroad
o  Obtaining a residence permit in country
o  Preventing 'double taxation' when working in another country
o  Setting up my business abroad
o  Cross-border on-line shopping in Europe

Have your say...
