EXPANSION OF SEARCH CONSULTANCY’S SCOTTISH DIVISION CONTINUES WITH LAUNCH OF SEARCH SCIENTIFIC

New consultants recruited to form specialist division

Search Consultancy – the 500 strong recruitment company – yesterday (07 March 2011) added to its specialist portfolio in Scotland with the launch of Search Scientific.

The new division, to be headed up by Kim Hunter and Gavin Gallimore, will see Search continue to strengthen its Scottish offering as it seeks to grow business by 20% over the next year.

Building on the success of Search’s established scientific divisions in Manchester and Leeds, the division has been created to capitalise on the growth of key science industries in Scotland, including electronics, oil and gas, life sciences, nuclear and renewable energy and aerospace and defence.

The new team, which boasts a wealth of scientific and recruitment industry experience, will be focused on the placement of scientists into fields such as Pharmaceutical, Biomedical, Biotechnology and Healthcare.

In November 2010, Search Consultancy revealed its ambitious plans under new managing director Simone Lockhart to increase the Scottish division’s income and headcount by 20%, primarily through maximising opportunities in growth sectors.

Simone Lockhart, managing director of Search Consultancy in Scotland, commented:

“There is a huge amount of focus on the growth of science industries in Scotland, and this new division has been created to capitalise on the potential within the science field and the resulting rise in demand for new talent.

“We have recruited three new specialists to start the division, incorporating a solid mix of both recruitment and science industry expertise, and are confident our candidate attraction techniques will ensure we pull the talent to meet and exceed client demand.

“Expanding into growth sectors is a key part of our Scottish expansion strategy, and we know from our experience opening a new medical division last year that we’re fully equipped to maximise these specialist sector opportunities as they arise.”
