Expansion on the horizon for ‘preferred supplier’ Zenith People

After posting favourable growth in 2010, Zenith People are adding to their team and their outlook as they expand into new business sectors during 2011.

A recruitment agency which traditionally specialises in Engineering, Manufacturing and Logistics, Zenith is taking its successful recruitment processes and existing skills into new areas such as Renewable Technology, Construction, Commercial, I.T., HR and Finance.

As part of this expansion the South Tyneside based company has recently recruited two new apprentices to help with its temporary and permanent recruitment services.

Managing Director Angela Anderson commented ‘We’ve done fantastically well working in our current sectors over the years and we want to take that momentum into new areas.

We want to do more for our existing clients whilst attracting new clients from new sectors.

We know our clients appreciate our values and the way we work and we’re confident this approach will benefit companies in other industries. ‘

With gloom still hovering over the region after the recession and countless forecasters predicting a double dip, Angela finds plenty of reasons to be positive.

‘Like most companies the recession affected us, but we came out stronger and we’re being proactive by widening the scope of our services and expanding our team. I’m really excited about taking two local people under our wing and putting them on a solid footing for a good career in the future’.

Apprentice Ged Cunningham from South Shields said ‘I’m delighted to have secured a position on Zenith People’s apprenticeship scheme, I decided college wasn’t for me and wasn’t sure what to do next, but Zenith are giving me the chance to continue my education and development while getting some valuable work experience’.

As a measure of Zenith People’s recent success, they have been awarded ‘preferred supplier’ status for the South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum.

Forum Manager John Wood explained ‘The STMF is all about the local business community supporting each other and Zenith People are a fantastic example of this. They offer an excellent service to companies in South Tyneside and beyond, and the fact they are taking on two local apprentices’ shows their commitment to the region’.

‘We’re told everyday about the struggles SMEs are facing, but Zenith buck that trend and send a positive message to others that despite recent tough times, businesses can flourish’.
