The UK’s largest IT graduate employer, FDM Group, has ranked in 9th position of TheJobCrowd’s 2011 Top Companies For Graduates To Work For.
The IT services provider, renowned for its unique graduate programme, ranked above internationally recognised companies such as Unilever, L’Oreal and IBM in the table of 50 employers.
FDM Group CEO, Rod Flavell, said, “One of the main reasons for our phenomenal expansion and success over the last twenty years is the fact that our employees genuinely enjoy their work and the environment they work in. We pride ourselves on maintaining a sociable yet motivating atmosphere and supporting all of our members of staff on an individual basis.”
The list of top employers was entirely determined by employee experience and showed that FDM’s “graduates like working there so much they are almost surprised at how much they enjoy their jobs.”
Consequently FDM staff gave the enjoyment factor an average rating of 9.1/10, whilst the ‘Company Culture’ category gave the graduate recruiter the joint highest score of 9.8/10.
FDM Recruitment Manager, Madeleine Field, said, “We are absolutely delighted with these results. Considering that we are recruiting a staggering 1,000 graduates this year alone, this is certainly a fitting and encouraging reward for us.”
TheJobCrowd’s report on the international employer sited graduate satisfaction at being directly involved in “international... multimillion pound projects for the company’s blue chip clients (including HSBC, UBS and Barclays).”
The company trains its graduates within the areas of Project Management Office, Application Support, Development, Testing and Infrastructure, before placing them within one or more of the firm’s 200 clients for a minimum of two years.
This provides graduates with the combination of industry centred training and real commercial experience often required to forge a successful career within the IT industry.
