FDM Group to host “Flavours of IT” event for graduates seeking to break into IT

The UK’s largest IT graduate employer, FDM Group, is to mark the start of the year with an innovative event for graduates interested in pursuing IT careers within its Manchester office.

The free “Flavours of IT” session will take place on 26th January between 6pm-8pm and will aim to provide graduates with an insight into the industry and the career paths available to them.

FDM Group Recruitment Manager, Madeleine Field, said, “This event will take the style of a speed networking event with a twist. A series of presentations regarding some of our training streams including software development, testing and application support will take place and will be repeated over the course of the evening. The idea is that attendees can pick and choose which sessions are relevant to them as well as networking with FDM employees and other attendees.”

The FDM Recruitment team will also be on hand to offer valuable one-on-one advice and with 21 years of experience as a graduate recruiter under its belt, the firm is certainly well qualified to provide graduates with guidance.

The ‘Best Technical Graduate Recruiter’ of 2010 is renowned for its award winning graduate scheme which offers graduates a unique combination of industry centred training and real commercial experience.

Entrants onto the two-year scheme are provided with 12-16 weeks of technical training followed by work placements within one or more of the firm’s 200 prestigious clients including HSBC, UBS, Credit Suisse and Virgin Media.

In 2011 the firm ranked in 9th position of TheJobCrowd’s 50 ‘Top Companies For Graduates to Work For’ and will have recruited 1,000 graduates this year alone.

The international IT services provider regularly holds free advantage sessions for graduates and will soon be running its second “Women in IT” event for female university leavers interested in embarking on a career within the field.
