David Arkless - President - ManpowerGroup

David is a world-renowned expert on labour market trends and has widespread experience of helping countries to de­velop their labour market strategies. As well as being a regular advisor to the US Department of State, and various EU departments, David is Vice President of Ciett, the International confederation of private employment agencies. David is a Board Member of The Hague Process on Refugees and Migration, a Special Advisor to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and is President of End Human Trafficking Now. In 2010, David became Vice Presi­dent of the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC) in Beijing.

Aleksey Mironov - Director - Ancor (Russia)

Alexey has spent 7 recent years with ANCOR, a staffing market leader in the CIS and Russia. Being a Board Member, Alexey is currently responsible for strategic business development including international expansion, new products launch and M&A. Previously he was deputy GM in charge of key accounts management and business development. Alexey started his employment with ANCOR in 2005 at the role of National Key Account Manager.

Prior to joining ANCOR Alexey spent 5 years with Coleman Services, a major HR advisory where he started with a recruitment consultant role and gradually moved to marketing and business development, eventually managing the respective department. Alexey is also a member of Association of Private Employment Agencies in Russia. He earned a degree in national economics and holds an MBA in strategic marketing.


Brian Wilkinson - Randstad (Netherlands)

After graduating in English literature in 1978 and with many years in the UK staffing and recruitment industry already behind him, Brian Wilkinson joined Vedior in 1999 as UK development manager. He became a member of Vedior’s board of management in 2003. He was appointed to the Randstad executive board following the merger with Vedior, and is responsible for the combined businesses in the United Kingdom, Australia & Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates), India and China.


Richard Pike - CEO - Adcorp (South Africa)
 
Richard Pike qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1989 and holds a B Com (Honours) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. He was articled to Deloitte Haskins & Sells after which he joined Hunt Leuchars & Hepburn Limited as Group Financial Manager and was later appointed Financial Director of HL&H Mining Timber.
In 1995, Richard co-founded Morgan University Alliance, a private education and business consulting initiative which he listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the name, Acumen Holdings Limited, in 1999. Richard subsequently sold Acumen to Adcorp Holdings Limited in 2000 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Adcorp in 2001, the position he currently occupies today.

He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Southern African Association of Corporate Treasurers and is a past fellow of the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. He is currently a member of Business Leadership South Africa and The Millennium Labour Council, a Nedlac affiliate. Richard is the author of two books, Tangled Toes, Pins & Needles and The New Divide and has also authored numerous business articles and is a prominent public speaker.

Chris Harper - MD - Baird Capital Partners Europe

Chris Harper, 49, joined Baird Capital Partners in 1990. After gaining a degree in Mathematics from Durham University Chris returned to his home town of Manchester joining Arthur Andersen. On qualifying Chris moved to the London office where he worked on a number of buy-outs. This led to an opportunity to join Security Pacific Eurofinance, a mid-market debt provider, where over a period of three years he gained firsthand experience of both the benefits and dangers of leveraged transactions.

In his time at Baird Chris has been involved in a large range of transactions with a significant number in the business services sector and particularly in human capital services. Transactions have included Elan Computing, Capital Consulting and Aston Carter. Chris currently sits on the board of Nigel Wright, a recruitment business which we are helping to grow across Europe, Asia and S. America.

Neil Parker, Market Strategist, RBS


Neil
joined the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1995 having graduated with an honours degree in economics and a masters degree in international economics. He has worked in economic research for 17 years and worked closely with former MPC member Marian Bell.


His current areas of focus are on the economies of the G10, interest rate and foreign exchange markets. In this capacity, Neil regularly speaks at corporate events and seminars, hosts a regular monthly conference call for clients, attends client meetings and writes research on all of these subjects for clients and for publication in influential business journals.

Kevin Green, CEO, The REC



Kevin Green has been the Chief Executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation since June 2008. The REC is the professional body for the UK’s 20 billion private recruitment and staffing industry.

Before starting at the REC, Kevin worked for the Royal Mail from 2003 to 2008. His last role was HR Director for Royal Mail Letters; where he was responsible for all people-related issues for a business with 165,000 employees. He was part of the leadership team which transformed the business from losing £1 million a day in 2003 to making over £600 million profit in 2007.

Prior to this, Kevin was Managing Director of Qtab, a successful strategic HR consultancy that specialised in assisting businesses to develop and implement their people strategies. His clients included Lloyds TSB, First Choice, Fuji, Orange and Unilever.

Since arriving at the REC, Kevin has improved its offering to members; this has included the introduction of account management, launched the Institute of Recruitment Professionals and developed a business support unit under the Academy for Business brand. During Kevin’s tenure at the REC it’s been recognised for its excellence in service provision and campaigns, winning over nine trade association and member awards.

Kevin has a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel and is a Fellow of the CIPD and IRP and has written many articles on HR Strategy and Organisational Change. He is a much sought-after speaker on subjects such as the future of resourcing; using people strategies to improve competitiveness and how to undertake people-centric organisational transformation. He is also a regular contributor to BBC radios 5’s Wakeup to Money and the Today programme. Kevin has also made many TV appearances on ITV, Channel 4, Sky and BBC news where he is commentating on the UK labour market.


INTERNATIONAL PANEL:

Stuart Batchelor - Senior VP and President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa - CDI Corporation Inc.

Stuart has spent most of his career in International Management and Business Development roles in the technology and engineering sectors. He joined CDI in January of this year as Senior Vice President and is responsible for all of CDI’s activities within EMEA which includes staffing and Engineering solutions businesses in multiple sectors. He is a member of CDI’s Executive Leadership Team. Prior to joining CDI, Stuart was with Invensys where he held several positions the most recent being VP Sales of Emerging Markets and leading Mergers & Acquisitions. Before Invensys, Stuart was the UK Business Development Manager for Jacobs Engineering. Stuart also spent 8 years with Rockwell Automation his last role being Director of Solutions within the EMEA region.

Nick Stephens - RSA Global - CEO

Nick has been a Director of RSA since 1986 and joined the business full-time in 1995.  In 2000 he became Managing Director of RSA Consulting Ltd - the RSA "group" company. Following a major re-structure in September 2005 Nick took up a new position as CEO.  In this role he has led the transformation of RSA into a truly global company launching new wholly-owned businesses in London, USA, Germany, Singapore, and Switzerland, a joint venture in China and a partnership in Turkey.

Nick studied Law at the University of East Anglia and Business at Cranfield and has broad commercial experience gained through various roles in metals trading, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and the British National Health Service as well as from his time at RSA.

John Rose - CEO - FiveTen Group - General

John has spent most of his working career in the recruitment sector. He graduated in Accountancy from the University of Manchester in 1985, but decided against life as an Accountant! After a short time in the publishing industry, he moved into his first recruitment role in 1987 and spent the next 13 years in a variety of consulting, management and leadership roles within the financial recruitment space.

He was a Divisional Managing Director of HW Group Plc when it was acquired by TMP (now Monster Worldwide; Nasdaq: MNST) in 2000 and became Chief Operating Officer of TMP’s UK recruitment business in 2002. When that business was de-merged in 2003, John was appointed CEO of Hudson’s (Nasdaq: HHGP) UK/Ireland operation, an 800 person, £200m turnover business operating in Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain & Procurement recruitment, Recruitment Outsourcing, and Assessment & Development. During his 4 years in this role, John integrated 12 acquisitions, re-shaped the business, made 3 divestments and grew profitability (EBITDA) from (£100k) to £11.3m.

Russell Clements - CEO - SThree plc

 
Russell has been CEO since 2004. He joined the group in 1986 when he became the second employee of SThree’s first business, Computer Futures.
He rose to became Sales Director and then Managing Director before being appointed SThree’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2001.
Russell holds a Degree in Government from the University of Essex and is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
He is a former Chairman of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).
    


FAST GROWTH ENTREPRENEURS PANEL:

Tobial Read - CEO - Swift Worldwide Resources

Tobias has been CEO of Swift since August of 2010. Although he is based in Houston, Tobias is a frequent visitor to Swift's customers and operations in all of our global locations. Prior to working with Swift he was CEO of Talascend, a successful global engineering recruitment agency based out of the UK and USA. He is an engineer by background first moving into management consultancy before completing an MBA at London Business School. He has extensive executive experience working with private equity investors in turnaround and high growth situations and has been involved in 4 successful prior exits, 2 as CEO. Tobias is also Chairman of Road Angel.

David Spencer Percival - CEO - Spencer Ogden


David Spencer–Percival is certainly not new to growing businesses. David co-founded Huntress in 2000 and assisted in growing the business to a £12million turnover in the first year. That growth continued until it reached its peak at almost £100million and well over 500 staff. The business was sold to Private Equity, and after a short break it was evident that David could not sit still for long, he established Spencer Ogden Energy with his business partner Sir Peter Ogden in 2010. Starting with a bang they achieved a £4 million turnover in the first year and continued that to a massive £19million in the second. Within this time he has opened 5 offices, including 2 internationally and hired 85 new staff. Although this is a tremendous growth in such a short space of time David is not looking at standing still anytime soon, with strong International growth plans for 2012 watch this space……


James Parsons - CEO - Arrows Group

James Parsons is co-founder and CEO at Arrows Group, a multi sector specialist recruiter that operates in the TMT and Healthcare markets. James graduated in Economics from Newcastle University in 1998 and has been working in the recruitment sector for the last 13 years. James initially worked for Allegis Group and then S3 and in 2003 left to establish Arrows Group and has overseen the companies growth and expansion over the past 9 years. Arrows Group now achieves annual sales of circa £25 million, employs 85 staff, with
offices in the UK and the Netherlands and was recently recognised as the 5th fastest growing recruitment company in the UK.

STEVE SOLOMON - COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR - RBS

Steve is the Commercial Director for Consumer Industries at RBS. The specialist sector division he heads up look after over 120 Recruitment companies based in Central London, & the customers typically comprise high growth, dynamic companies with highly capable management teams. Their Usp is that they have a team who specialise in looking after Recruitment companies, who understand the market, the challenges & the opportunities that exist, and support their customers helping them achieve their ambitions. Consumer Industries has led the way in performance since its creation 2 years ago, a testimony to the strength of the sector in which they operate, and the execution of the the team's strategy.
 
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, with a MBA from Henley Management College.
