ATA SELECTION APPOINTS NEW MD AS COMPANY STRUCTURE IS OVERHAULED

Recruitment consultancy restructures to take advantage of the unique nature of the markets and sectors it operates in

ATA, one of the UK's leading engineering recruitment consultancies specialising in general and manufacturing engineering, rail, technical sales, energy and construction, has appointed Andrew Hardaker as Managing Director of ATA Selection, as the company restructures into separate operating brands.

The move aims to capitalise on the unique nature of each of the markets and sectors the company operates in by placing separate management teams at the head of each division.

ATA Selection will continue to concentrate on capturing permanent and contract opportunities in its traditional SME marketplace. Additionally, a number of ATA vertical brands such as the existing ATA Rail, ATA Construction and the recently formed ATA Energy Division will pursue large scale contracts with industry leaders in their respective fields under the ATA verticals brand.

Andrew Hardaker has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of ATA Selection, while Gary Hewett, who is Managing Director of Ganymede Solutions, ATA's sister company which is a leading provider of skilled trade labour contractors, will be head of ATA Verticals.

Andrew Hardaker joined ATA Selection as a recruitment consultant after graduating from Sheffield University with a Geography degree in 1997.

After a year he was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager, and by 2001 he was Area Manager, overseeing ATA's Engineering teams in Leeds and Newcastle, and within eight months he was promoted to Location Manager, overseeing the company's Engineering, Sales and Advertising Selection Teams.

In September 2004 he was promoted to Regional Director responsible for ATA Selection's operations in Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester, a position he held for three years.

Within two years of this appointment, under Andrew's leadership, the region went from making a loss to achieving a net profit of more than 87,600.

In March 2007 Andrew was made a full board member of ATA Selection and heading a team of 45 employees as Operations Director of the firm's Northern Division, which achieved a turnover of 7.5 million, with a net profit of nine per cent.

Andy Pendlebury, Group Chief Executive of RTC Group Plc, the parent company of ATA and Ganymede, said: "Andy has been with ATA for 11 years and has been instrumental in the success of the business over the past few years. The Board of RTC believes Andy is the ideal person to take ATA Selection to its next phase of development."
