Horacio De Martini elected as new Ciett President.
Fred van Haasteren, he has been elected as the new Vice-President of Ciett.
Horacio De Martini and Fred van Haasteren were elected during the Ciett General Assemblyand their term will last for 3 years. As the Regional Representative for South America, Horacio De Martini has been a member of the Ciett Board since 1993. De Martini is Regional Director for Manpower Inc. South America, where his award-winning work has established him as a referent in the field. He joined Manpower Argentina in 1967, becoming President of the local office in 1975. In 1976, he was appointed Regional Director for South America with responsibilities over the operations in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. He was also President of FAETT (Federacin Argentina de Empresas de Trabajo Temporario) for more than 10 years, and he is the Argentine Representative in the CLETT&A (Confederacin Latinoamericana de Empresa de Trabajo Temporario y Afines).
Fred van Haasteren has been a member of the Ciett Board for more than 18 years, especially in his position as the President of Eurociett, the European arm of Ciett. Van Haasteren has been working for Randstad since 1982, and is now the Randstad Holdings Executive Vice-President and chair of the Board of Randstad Nederland.
As vice president of ABU (1986-1990), the Dutch association of agency work employers, and as a member and chair on behalf of the industry of the negotiations-body of the collective agreement for agency work (1984-1999), Fred van Haasteren contributed a lot to the development and acceptance of agency work in the Netherlands. He can be seen as one of the architects and creators of the Flexsecurity deal (1996), which safeguarded the position of agency work in the Netherlands and saved the way for a more secure future.
