Randstad announces British competition investigation
Randstad Holding nv (as the legal successor of Vedior NV following the merger in July 2008) announces that the British Office of Fair Trading has issued a Statement of Objections in relation to an investigation of an alleged infringement of British Competition Laws dating back to from the end of 2004 until the start of 2006.

The investigation relates to alleged price fixing practices in relation to a collective boycott of a third party vendor in the construction and engineering recruitment industry in the United Kingdom, involving several recruitment companies including two companies, which were at the time subsidiaries of Vedior (Hill McGlynn & Associates Limited and Beresford Blake Thomas Limited).

The Statement of Objections is confidential, does not indicate a finding of guilt and each of the concerned recruitment companies now have the opportunity to respond to the OFT. We will fully cooperate with the OFT.

The Randstad takes all matters of business conduct and ethics very seriously. Its code of conduct and integrity code are implemented throughout the group of companies, including policies on competition compliance.

Randstad was fully aware of the investigation by the OFT at the time of its merger with Vedior and expects any possible outcome to be non-material to the result of the Randstad Group. More information will be provided if and when appropriate.
