FORUM OF PROFESSIONAL RECRUITERS HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH SHADOW MINISTER

The Shadow DTI Minister (DBERR) dealing with corporate governance and business regulations has welcomed discussions with the Recruitment Industry.
Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon, who also holds the role of Shadow Solicitor General, recently joined committee members from the Forum of Professional Recruiters for an informal debate in order to aid understanding and awareness of how a potential future Conservative Government may support the recruitment and professional staffing industries as well as gain further insight in to the challenges that recruiters are facing.Speaking on behalf of the Forum of Professional Recruiters, Chair Tara Ricks, welcomed Mr. Djanoglys frank and open approach and willingness to engage with the industry to understand the tough conditions it is facing in the months ahead: Our industry is facing slower trading conditions than we have seen for many years she says. To compound the economic slow-down, we are rapidly seeing the impact of legislation that has been unrolled under the current Labour Government whether related directly to business, or to employment status. We provide a critical service to employers and now more than ever, we need to work in partnership with business and Government to ensure good recruitment policies are in place that provide the right framework for trading. We were very interested to hear what Mr. Djanogly had to say and it was reassuringly evident that the Conservative approach is one of listening, engaging and responding to business to ensure understanding of legislative impact across the broad commercial picture and find mutually acceptable solutions where possible.
