Karen Pope, Design Team Leader on the project, explains how her team helped improve an already popular site:
"Users told us that they liked the key design elements of the old site, such as the colour palate and navigation."The focus for the new version has been on more consistent signposting and providing jobseekers with clearer, more relevant content, directing them to the jobs they're interested in more quickly.

Andy Wilson, Business Operations Manager at, explains the rationale behind some of the new features and functionality:

"Comprehensive analysis and rigorous usability testing enabled us to concentrate on every detail, making small improvements wherever we could.

"We've also enhanced job search to deliver even more relevant vacancies to jobseekers, promoting local searching and providing a shortlist of recommended jobs with each visit.

Other new features include a recruiter ranking system, based on jobseeker feedback, and Salary Mate, designed to help jobseekers find higher paying opportunities.
