The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has awarded Capita Resourcing a contract to manage the supply of professional and technical interim personnel through a managed service agreement. The contracted period is for three years, with an option to extend for a further one year.

Under the terms of the agreement, Capita will deliver a managed service solution for the supply and management of professional interim personnel services. Capita will also be responsible for managing the implementation of an e-resourcing system (MrTed TalentLinkTM), which will underpin the full interim personnel engagement and time-booking process. A key focus to the contract will be to provide nationwide supply coverage with an emphasis on local sourcing. The contract will deliver significant process improvements and cost efficiencies to DWP, streamlining supplier and worker engagements.

Barry Leighton, head of commercial management for DWP commented, We are continually looking for new ways to improve services whilst achieving sustainable cost efficiencies. Capita were selected to deliver this important new service based on their experience in delivering successful managed service contracts and we firmly believe that this new partnership will assist our drive to achieve efficiencies in the engagement of interim workers, and help us to meet our wider Spending Review 07 challenge. We also expect this new service to deliver added value to DWP, whilst reducing expenditure through competitive margins and delivering tangible indirect efficiencies through the introduction of a simplified recruitment process.

Dawn Marriott-Sims, managing director of Capita Resourcing, commented: We are delighted to have been chosen to deliver this significant contract to DWP. This contract will draw upon our experience and commitment to delivering end-to-end resourcing solutions with our managed services model, bringing significant improvements in supply and process efficiencies to DWP. We look forward to working closely with DWP and are pleased be able to support them through this change process.
