Directgovs new services offer real help now for jobseekers
Directgov, the governments flagship digital service, has successfully launched new information on its website to provide real help to jobseekers during the current downturn and beyond.
Comprehensive information for jobseekers is now available on Directgov from the first week of February 2009.
Jobseekers can access practical help and advice, including a job kit which includes advice on redundancy, preparing for interviews and identifying your strengths and skills.
Jayne Nickalls, Directgov Chief Executive Officer, said:
Directgov has a vital role to play in the current economic climate, ensuring that public services are easy to access. It is our ambition to become an essential supersite, and putting Jobcentre Plus information within Directgov is an important part of our progress in achieving this goal.
Directgov now hosts all the information previously available on Jobcentre Plus.
Directgov brings together services and information from various government departments, and is at the heart of the relationship between government and citizens in the digital space. As well as being available on the website, which now attracts more than 11million visits a month it can also be accessed on any internet-enabled mobile phone, and on digital TV.
