The newly formed Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is to hold its first ever HR conference on the 26th March 2009 at the headquarters of the CBI in London. The half-day conference will present a unique opportunity for professionals to come together with clients and potential clients to discuss some of the key issues and latest developments affecting the use of temporary workers in the workplace. The event will be sponsored by Parasol, the leading umbrella PAYE company.

The event will also highlight good practice in how temporary workers are selected, inducted and trained for their roles.

Professor Patricia Leighton, Emeritus Professor of Employment Law at the University of Glamorgan and author of Out of the Shadows- Managing Self-Employed, Agency and Outsourced Workers will give the keynote address on the latest thinking on managing a temporary workforce.

The other speakers include:
 Kevin Barrow a leading expert on temporary worker law and founder of Blake Lapthorns highly regarded Recruitment and Outsourcing team will talk on managing the legal risks of using temporary workers
 Dawn Marriott-Sims - Capita Group PLCs Head of Internal Resourcing - will discuss some of the best tactics for managing a large temporary workforce
 John Brazier the MD of The Professional Contractors Group will give his view on the contractors perspective of working alongside permanent employees

Ann Swain, Chief Executive, APSCo, comments: In difficult economic times one of the most important things is to strengthen relationships with clients. Recruiters and HR Directors dont always fully understand each others priorities and objectives, so this conference will provide a rare and valuable insight for both parties into what happens on the other side of the fence.

APSCo members are being offered a buy one get one free deal on tickets in order to encourage them to bring clients.
