Acquisition will give platform for growth in London and the South East

You may not yet have heard of Kerr Multilingual but all that is set to change as it has just become the latest addition to the talent stable of gap personnel, one of the fastest growing independent recruitment firms in the country.

This is an incredibly exciting time for Kerr, says Chief Executive Marian Creighton who actually featured on the first ever feature front cover of Recruitment International. It is our 40th anniversary this year and being able to take advantage of the extensive experience and nationwide infrastructure that gap personnel brings to the table, will mean a clear career path for our people and an exciting future for the Kerr brand, which will be retained.

Margaret Kerr first opened her doors in Ealing, West London in 1969, a site that the company still occupies today. Marian joined the business in 1974 as an interviewer and eventually acquired the business in 1992 in a management buy out from the plc which had bought the company from Margaret when she retired in 1988.

After 34 years in the business my hearts desire is to see the Kerr brand reach its full potential and I know that gap personnel is the way to achieve that - as soon as I met Gary Dewhurst, it was obvious that there was a real synergy between us. With the vision of this reputable and dynamic company, we believe that Kerr has a golden future within a privately owned company that is open-minded, innovative and 100% focused on high levels of customer service retention, locally, nationally and internationally.

Talking about the acquisition, Gary Dewhurst, Managing Director of gap personnel said: As with any organisation, its all about the people - and Kerr has a great team. The consultants have longevity of service almost unheard of in our industry - one member of the team has been there for 20 years! Thats a great foundation to work from and weve got real plans for the brand both in terms of locations and expanding the service offering

Well also be bringing in Bill Boorman from the Bill Boorman Consultancy as an adviser to assist with training as well as expansion and growth strategies - Bill has a wealth of experience in the multilingual recruitment sector and his input on a consultancy basis will be invaluable.

This acquisition is the latest in gap personnels aggressive plan of expansion and growth. We have a number of routes - acquisition is one - but we also have a business angel model where we can provide support to smaller agencies that may be experiencing stagnation or difficulty - and were always happy to talk about how we can further expand our network which now numbers over 40 branches.

If confidence is what moves markets then gap personnel is a company to watch!
