UKs first professional recruitment book reaches no.1 on Amazon list after successful launch

 Over 70 people attend launch party
 Book by Ann Swain and Jane Newell Brown

The UKs first ever book for recruitment consultants, The Professional Recruiters Handbook by Ann Swain, Chief Executive of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), and Jane Newell-Brown, has reached the top spot on Amazons Interviewing and Recruitment list following the recent launch party.

The book was launched at a party at Waterstones Piccadilly, an event that was attended by over 70 senior industry figures from the recruitment profession.

The Professional Recruiters Handbook (published by Kogan Page) shot to the top of Amazons Interviewing and Recruitment list following the launch and reached the Top 10 of Amazons Human Resources Management list, fending off stiff competition from a huge number of American recruitment and HR books by career authors.

The launch party was sponsored by Broadbean Technology, the European leader in job advert distribution, response tracking and online recruitment solutions.

The Professional Recruiters Handbook: Delivering Excellence in Recruitment Practice is a guide to achieving success in recruitment, which explores tested strategies implemented in the industry and provides practical advice on attracting top candidates and finding and retaining new clients. The book features numerous supporting case studies, interviews and tips from some of the UKs most successful recruitment professionals.

Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, comments: The launch party was a thoroughly enjoyable event and Jane and I were delighted to receive the support of everyone from the recruitment profession who joined us for the celebrations.

I am delighted the book is doing so well. Jane and I both thought that there was a market for a serious book for recruiters from a UK perspective and the success of the book has vindicated our gut-feeling and made all the effort well worth while.

The book covers topics such as:
 The successful recruiter
 The recruitment cycle
 How to deliver excellence in recruitment practice
 Candidate management
 Client acquisition
 Client strategy
 Candidate attraction

The Professional Recruiters Handbook is available from major retailers including Waterstones and Amazon and can be bought directly from the publishers website (
