Taskmaster Focusing On Childrens Charities

Taskmaster Focusing On Childrens Charities
Multi sector Recruiter, Taskmaster Resources have pledged not to forget the Charities during the current recession, and have pulled out all the stops for two Leeds based Childrens charities. Managing Director of the Leeds Based company, Colin ONeill, decided this years focus was The Childrens Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF), Based at The LGI in Leeds, and Martin House Hospice for Children & Young People, based in Clifford near Wetherby.

Last Autumn Taskmaster had a charity Golf Day at Garforth Golf Club, Leeds, in aid of CHSF, inviting clients and suppliers to enter teams of 4, and attracted 60 entrants from all around the country. We had a fantastic day said Colin The generosity of our clients was overwhelming, not only by the amount of entries we had but the prize donations we received, allowing us to raise a total of 4,500 on the day. This was presented to the CHSF by Jennifer ONeill, (picture attached) Colins 12 Year Old daughter, who took charge of selling raffle tickets and the Auction.

On Valentines Day this year, Taskmaster held their annual Staff Awards Ceremony at Oulton Hall, Leeds, were traditionally they hold a Charity Raffle, with once again some fantastic prizes up for grabs, all donated by their Clients, Suppliers and Business partners. The sum raised was a fantastic 2,000, which has gone to Martin House. In addition to this, Colin has entered a 30 strong team to run the Jane Tomlinson 10k Run For All on 21st June in Leeds all on behalf of Martin House.Colin said, I was truly touched when introduced to these two charities. Having two perfectly healthy children makes you realise just how lucky we are. Having visited the fundraising teams Colin noted, The sheer level of passion and enthusiasm these people show is immense, and to do a bit to help is a real pleasure. The 10k run is seen as the perfect opportunity for Taskmaster to take the total up from 2k and at least match the total that was raised for CHSF. It was a no-brainer for me to enter, says Colin, I am a little overweight and this will give me the motivation to get trim and fit. The challenge was sent out to all Taskmaster staff, and within 48 hours there was a dedicated team of 30 runners, with representation from all 10 of the companys branches in Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Peterborough, Manchester, Wigan, Motherwell and Glasgow.
"I've started my training plan says Colin, clearly Im not a natural athlete, but I am no quitter, and I guarantee that I will run the whole 10k, just dont expect any world records to be broken!Recently, Martin House were presented a cheque for 2,552 (photo attached) raised from the raffle and all the entry fees for the run. Each runner has pledged to raise a minimum of 100, so that easily takes care of our target said Colin. Just take a few minutes to take a look at what these charities do, and if you, like me, are touched, then give a little.
