The recession has produced numerous causalities and sadly the Facilities Management profession has not managed to escape the reaches of the economic downturn.  Spencer Marshall have been engaged by numerous individuals who have never been forced on to the job market without choice, many of these facilities professionals have been unsure as to how to take the first steps to finding a new role. Employers have been considerate enough to provide such individuals access to outplacement consultancies and career counsellors, sadly these organisations do not possess a technical understanding of Facilities Management & Corporate Services and are unable to provide industry specific advice. Having listened to our clients and candidates, we have decided to launch an industry specific Career Counselling Outplacement service. This will be only available to clients releasing FM or Corporate Services personnel and each assignment is to be tailored on an individual case basis, this will avoid the potential to enforce uniform advice on to those we are counselling.
 
Upon announcing the launch of Spencer Marshalls Career Counselling Service Managing Director Steven ODonoghue said Given the effect of the downturn and the impact on personnel  within the FM and Corporate Services sector we felt that those employed within our industry needed us to do more for them.  We are aware that there are a number of excellent outplacement- career counsellors in the market but none with specific FM and Corporate Services understanding. By launching this division we felt we could do more for both our clients and our candidates
