AGMA extend contract with Comensura

The Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) has extended its contract with Comensura, the UK's market leader in the procurement and management of indirect services. AGMA has committed to using Comensuras temporary recruitment platform C.net, supported by Comensuras managed service, until 2012. The total value of the contract extension is estimated to be 60 million.

AGMA put Comensura through a rigorous review process, on behalf of the 11 local authorities that come under its auspices. Having successfully achieved savings of more than 2 million over the initial two-year contract, Comensura was found to have delivered improved efficiencies, significant cashable savings and increased management visibility.

As a result of working with Comensura since 2007, AGMA has seen considerable efficiencies and cost savings. However, it is the quality of the management information that the system produces that has proved to be priceless, says AGMA category manager, Jayne Whitehead. The data that the system provides us has put us in a strong position to improve our operational practices and generate additional reductions in expenditure. We anticipate the same, if not improved savings over the next contract period.

Comensuras temporary recruitment solution for AGMA was first implemented in 2007 as a three-year collaborative contract that covered 11 authorities across Greater Manchester. Since then AGMAs 4,000 Comensura users have been able to better manage their temporary workforce, handling an annual managed spend in excess of 30 million, through 200 suppliers.

Mike Trevor, CEO of Comensura, comments: The strengths which AGMA particularly appreciates are Comensura's ability to offer collaborative reporting, improved visibility of usage and spend, increased control, and contract enforcement. The continuity and consistency across the authority is also a major benefit. By implementing Comensuras temporary staffing solution AGMA is expected to save between six and eight per cent each year.

Comensura offers a combination of managed services and sophisticated technology platform that together manages the entire recruitment process. It enables key functions to be automated and monitors and ranks recruitment agencies against key criteria including cost, responsiveness and the caliber of candidates to create a dynamic competitive supplier list.
