HAYS IT DEPARTMENT SCALES NEW HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY
IT employees and members from other departments at Hays, the UKs leading specialist recruitment company, are climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The team, predominantly based in New Malden, Surrey, will complete the challenge at the end of June 2009, scaling the 4,406 feet mountain. The climb is in memory of friend and colleague, Ian Rattenbury, who they recently lost to cancer.
The team have so far raised over 4,000 for Marie Curie. The charity employs more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals and provides care to around 25,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in their hospices, along with support for their families. The charity mainly cares for those with cancer but also for people with other life-limiting illnesses.
Sean Earlam, IT Project Manager Comments: We are really excited about this challenge. Marie Curie is an incredibly worthwhile charity and we are all working and training hard to make sure that we are ready for Ben Nevis, and able to raise as much money as possible!
