LA RECRUITMENT SHORTLISTED FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN INTERNATIONALISATION AWARD
Aberdeen-based recruitment specialist LA Recruitment has been shortlisted for an Achievement in Internationalisation Award at this years prestigious Northern Star Business Awards.
LA Recruitment was nominated for its work overseas, particularly in Qatar, where it has a rapidly expanding team in Doha.
The company is one of 42 finalists to have made it through to the final stages of the annual awards, run by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, and is one of just three companies to have been shortlisted in the internationalisation category.
The winners of all 14 categories will be announced at the annual Northern Star Business Awards dinner and ceremony at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre in September, one of the most prestigious events in the local business calendar.
Established in 1983, LA Recruitment specialises in finding the best people for engineering, marine and technical positions as well as accounting, finance, administration and commercial posts.
Director Mhairi Preston said it was an honour to have been shortlisted.
We are all absolutely delighted to have shortlisted for the Northern Star Business Awards, she said. This is a great acknowledgement of the work our team has been doing to build the business, particularly in the Middle East, where we opened our office in Qatar in 2007 to allow us to develop this market and provide a full service to our clients in the area.
We have won a considerable amount of new business and seen a significant increase in revenue in this region, which has seen the team working all over the world to implement effective recruitment campaigns for our clients.
Making it to the finals of these prestigious awards is testament to the dedication of our team of 25, including Jacquie Philip, LA Recruitments managing director who heads up the office in Doha.
LA Recruitment was also the only Scottish recruitment company to attend the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, earlier this year, which led to new work in the USA, Australia, China and Dubai.
Bob Collier, Chief Executive of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, added: The Northern Star Business Awards are all about recognising and celebrating business achievements across all sectors so we're really delighted that the nominations we have received have exceeded all previous years.
It is a real testimony to the ongoing buoyancy and sustainability of the North-east business community. This has been seen as a challenging year for business and the fact that many of our businesses have continued to flourish and grow and enjoy success has sometimes been overlooked, particularly in the media. This is an opportunity to showcase some of the best that the region has to offer."
