APSCo short listed for two Trade Association Forum best practice awards
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has been shortlisted for two of the prestigious Trade Association Forum (TAF) awards for best practice - the Membership Success Award and the Export Initiative Award.
Of the several hundred trade associations in the UK, only 13 achieve the standard of excellence to win an annual TAF award. The awards dinner will take place on July 29 2009.
TAF was founded in 1997 with the backing of the DTI and CBI to promote best practice among UK trade associations and promote the role of effective trade associations to government, industry and the wider public.
APSCos entry for the Export Initiative Award was based on the groundbreaking and massively successful trade delegation it led to Abu Dhabi and Qatar. The majority of APSCo members on the trip secured new business meetings and a significant number won new contracts before returning to the UK. It was the first overseas trade delegation involving the UK recruitment industry.
The rapid growth in APSCos membership formed the basis for its entry for the Membership Success Award. In the first three months of 2009 APSCos membership rose by 25%, consolidating the rapid growth in membership they enjoyed in 2008 when membership rose by 42% (in the period January 08 January 09).
Marilyn Davidson, Director of APSCo, comments: To be short listed in two categories is hugely gratifying. Best practice has been the cornerstone of everything we have set out to achieve within the recruitment industry since APSCo was first founded. It is hugely flattering to be one of the few trade associations to be recognised for excellence among the hundreds of high quality trade groups in the UK.
