HAYS EMPLOYEES SCALE NEW HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY

IT employees and members from other departments at Hays, the UKs leading specialist recruitment company, climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The team, predominantly based in New Malden, Surrey, completed the challenge at the end of June 2009, scaling the 4,406 feet mountain. The climb was in memory of friend and colleague, Ian Rattenbury, who they recently lost to cancer.

The team have so far managed to raise an impressive 8,400 for Marie Curie. The charity employs more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals and provides care to around 27,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in their hospices, along with support for their families. The charity mainly cares for those with cancer but also for people with other life-limiting illnesses.

Sean Earlam, IT Project Manager Comments: The climb was very tough, but definitely worth it. Marie Curie is an incredibly worthwhile charity and we all worked and trained hard to make sure that we were ready for Ben Nevis, and able to raise as much money as possible. I cant believe we all made it!
