Hays has entered into a partnership with Jobcentre Plus in Newcastle to provide careers guidance and assistance to those who have recently lost their jobs, particularly white collar workers who have been hardest hit by the recession.

The provision will consist of a one-to-one consultation with a specialist Hays consultant from a number of different sector specialisms. As well as offering comprehensive careers advice on a range of topics, including CV and interview preparation, there will be a strong focus on career mapping and goal setting to help deal with the stressful post-redundancy period. We understand just how difficult a time it is for those who have recently been made redundant and our aim is to provide support so they have the best chance of securing a new job. For some, looking for a job will be extremely daunting, as they may not have been in this situation for some time, while others may want to use the opportunity to consider a new direction. In either scenario, it is important that the jobseekers are guided through every step of the process and have access to specialist advice for their job requirements.

To do this we are working with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation to help give jobseekers access to a wide range of opportunities. We know specialist recruitment agencies can offer additional support to our services and help customers search for suitable vacancies in particular sectors."
