HAYS RECEIVES GREEN ACCOLADE FROM MAYOR

As part of its ongoing commitment to minimise its environmental impact, Hays entered the Green500 awards and successfully won a silver award.

Hays continues to look at ways of reducing its carbon footprint and has implemented a number of eco-friendly policies, including the roll out of online timesheets. The Green500 awards, which were hosted and presented by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, are open to the capitals top 500 largest organisations and public sector businesses.

Tim Cook, Managing Director of Hays UK & Ireland, comments: I am pleased that Hays has been recognised for its efforts in helping London reduce its CO2 emissions. We are always looking at initiatives to minimise our impact on the environment as part of our overall energy efficiency strategy - only with a sustainable business can we fulfil our responsibilities to shareholders, staff, customers, and the wider environment in which we work. Green500 is an important initiative, which will improve the quality of living and leave a lasting imprint on the capital.

Boris Johnson said: I salute London's top organisations for truly grasping the nettle to become greener. Their sterling work to cut carbon and become energy efficient puts London on the front foot to emerge from the economic downturn stronger and stimulate new jobs.
