APSCo torpedoes competitors to win coveted Trade Association Forum Export Initiative Award
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) successfully blew away competition from the Defence Manufacturers Association to be awarded the highly coveted Export Initiative Award at the Trade Association Forums best practice awards.
The award was presented to APSCo Director Marilyn Davidson by John Sargeant at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London on July 29 2009.
The Trade Association Forum chose APSCos trade delegation to Abu Dhabi and Qatar as the winning entry for demonstrating that it was achieving success in promoting the export of the products or services provided by their members and a key component of that was the generation of tangible results. UK Trade & Investment described the trip as one of the most successful Trade Missions to the Gulf Region that UKTI has been involved in.
The trade delegation was a huge success and led directly to APSCo members winning contracts in the Gulf region, with one member estimating that the contract they signed whilst on the trip will net them 15m revenue in the next three years. Other APSCo members expect to set up offices in the region over the next year.
Following the success of the trade delegation to the Gulf, APSCo are currently planning a trade delegation to Singapore in November.
Marilyn Davidson, Director, of APSCo comments: We are delighted that the Trade Association Forum has recognised the success of our efforts to help our members expand their businesses overseas. The trip took a lot of planning and was hard work to put together, but the results proved more than worth the effort. We have more trade delegations in the pipeline which we hope will be just as successful as our trip to the Gulf.
