Nominations now open for first-ever IRP Awards to salute the UKs top recruiters

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has opened nominations for its first ever Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) awards.

Entries are now being sought for the 13 categories which are designed to ensure the very best and most talented people working at all levels and within different sectors of the recruitment industry are rewarded for their flair and achievements.

The IRP, which was launched by the REC in June, is a groundbreaking new innovation for recruiters replacing the previous Individual Membership offering which has supported the awards for the past two years. The core purpose of the IRP is to ensure that all recruiters are given the chance for personal recognition as part of the profession and to demonstrate to their clients that they are fully committed to giving the best possible service at all times.

The awards are also the only ones hosted by the REC, the trade body for the UKs 27 billion private recruitment industry, the climax of which will be a presentation evening at a glittering ceremony in London in November.

Kevin Green, the RECs Chief Executive, said: The IRP provides the ideal vehicle for us to reward those recruiters who are the standard-bearers within our industry. To win one of these awards, the nominee has to be somebody totally dedicated to upholding professionalism and from the feedback already received from members, we know there are many outstanding people out there worthy of these accolades.

Closing date for entries is Tuesday September 1 with the winners being announced at the awards evening to be held at the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) in the City on London on Thursday November 26 following the RECs first-ever National Convention for members. The only condition for all nominees is that they belong to the IRP at Affiliate, Member or Fellow level.

The judges for the awards will include Kevin Green, editors from the recruitment trade press and last years IM Recruiter of the Year winner, Emma BedfordPatel who works as a recruitment consultant for Tate.
