APSCo conference delegates to quiz USA staffing experts over live satellite link
October 7 2009
British recruiters will have a rare opportunity to pick the brains of a panel of leading recruitment industry experts from the USA over a live satellite link to San Jose, California, at the forthcoming Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) sales conference, sponsored by giant group. This will be the first time that the recruitment profession has hosted a live transatlantic panel discussion at any conference event.
The conference will be held at the Hilton London Tower Bridge on October 7 2009 and is titled The strong take business from the weak. The smart take business from the strong.
According to APSCo, emerging trends in the US staffing market are usually replicated in the UK shortly afterwards, so US staffing industry professionals will be able to give an informed an accurate view as to what to expect on the UK staffing industry landscape in the near future.
APSCo says that the satellite link will give UK recruiters invaluable insights into how to boost sales in a difficult year. The link will allow delegates to learn what the most successful tactics have been in navigating the upturn and what else to look out for in the months ahead as UK economic growth accelerates.
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, comments: The opportunity to participate in a live, transatlantic panel debate will be a first for the UK recruitment profession. It should be a great opportunity for UK recruiters to learn and benefit from the experiences of their US colleagues who are ahead of the curve on some issues.
Delegates will be delighted to see APSCo in typically bullish mood this year. Rather than dwell on any slowdown we thought it would be far more useful to provide delegates with tactics and techniques on winning the near 30 billion of business that is out there right now. That means not waiting for an upturn but competing.
The live satellite panel debate is the highlight of the conference for professional sales managers, directors and consultants. The early part of the day is split into three areas: the Management track, the Sales track and a CEO round table discussion which will allow delegates to focus on the subjects most relevant to them.
Among the speakers will be James Osborne, a former FTSE 250 CEO, Derek McAllan, a Partner from Big 4 professional services firm KPMG, and Heather White, CEO of Smarter Networking, and an inspirational business coach.
