Major Merger Boosts Recruitment Sector

A major development in recruitment services to the charity, public, regulatory and not-for-profit sectors has been announced. CF Appointments Ltd (CfA) and the recruitment subsidiary of the Prospects Group, Prospects Recruitment Services (PRS), are to join forces, with PRS being merged into CfA. The Prospects Group will be taking a controlling stake in the joint business.

The move will build on CfAs strong presence and reputation in the market and will mean a broader range of services on offer for clients in these key sectors. It is anticipated that this move will be part of a wider strategy for the Prospects Group of expanding through further public and private sector acquisitions, while developing existing products and services.

Prospects Group Executive Chairman Ray Auvray commented: We are delighted to welcome CfA Ltd into the Prospects Group. It has an unparalleled reputation in third sector recruitment and we are planning to build on this by broadening the range of services offered.

This is part of Prospects strategy to develop its business in the recruitment sector. We shall be announcing a range of new services for both the public and private sectors. We anticipate further acquisition in this market sector over the next couple of years.

The development is well timed in CfAs 25th year of operation and will enhance its existing role as a leading executive search and staff selection consultancy, says Richard Evans, the Chief Executive of the new company. He added: The Board is excited to be leading an expanded CfA into this new stage of growth and welcomes our new colleagues. CfA is well established in recruiting senior staff for charities, not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions. This development enables us to provide a one-stop shop service covering all senior and departmental executive appointments for our clients and candidates in the charity, public sector, regulatory and not-for-profit worlds and a more comprehensive service to schools and colleges. We will also build on the expertise of PRS in the new company, particularly in the recruitment of careers advice professionals, management and support staff.

The Prospects Group which has a 60million a year turnover is the major supplier of career and work-related advice to the government, local authorities and other parts of the public sector. The Group is also active in the independent schools sector through its Gabbitas subsidiary, which is the established provider of consultancy, advice and services to private education in the UK and across the world.

The board of the new company will be Peter Brown (Chairman), Richard Evans (CEO), and Tony Rayne (Finance and Administration), all shareholders and directors of CF Appointments, Ray Auvray (Executive Chairman of the Prospects Group) and Kevin Beerling (Prospects Group Finance Director). The headquarters of CfA, incorporating Prospects Recruitment Services, will remain in the City and the company will operate from both Gracechurch Street and PRSs current offices in Bromley.
