Nokia UK Evolve Spring Group Deal

hyphen the recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) division of Spring Group plc is pleased to announce a 3 year extension of its contractual relations with the converging internet and communication giant, Nokia

The relationship - which began in June 2007 - started out as a vendor management model. As of 10 August 2009, the renewed contract will be transformed into a full RPO solution, with hyphen operating as the Internal Talent Acquisition Group for Nokia, responsible for all permanent and contingent worker hiring. The investment in a best in class talent acquisition model is the result of Nokias continued determination to implement market leading resourcing models and techniques, despite the downturn.

The contract has evolved over time and now aligns with Nokia's new global ways of working within resourcing, ensuring the standardisation of routes to market and facilitating an enhanced experience for candidates, hiring managers and partner suppliers. hyphen will manage both the traditional routes to market including internal mobility, internal promotions and vendor management - along with modern techniques such as social networking and blogging.

Greg Allen, Head of UK Resourcing for Nokia, stated: At Nokia, we are very aware that our candidates are also our customers. We have evolved our RPO model and our relationship with hyphen to support a diverse range of channels, and we have recruited and trained brand ambassadors as well as innovative recruitment professionals through them. I am convinced that by understanding and utilising the data clouds and networks of the top talent in the UK and abroad, we will be well positioned to attract some of the most innovative and successful talent that will grow Nokias market position in the UK.

The model is forecast to deliver annual cost savings of 1.1m p/a for Nokia in the permanent recruitment arena. With teams both onsite and offsite, and supported by its own back office and service administration staff, hyphen will work to further streamline costs and processes, utilising client branded Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to manage the application process.

Neil Jones, MD of hyphen, commented: the relationship between hyphen and Nokia has already proven to be a successful one and I am keen to continue to develop our professional partnership. The new scope of this contract will allow our experienced teams to harness their expertise, drive, and creativity to deliver real value to Nokia at all stages of the recruitment lifecycle.
