Sellick Partnership Newcastle passes the finish line for Macmillan
The Sellick Partnership Newcastle team participated in this years Bupa Great North Run, in aid of their corporate charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team joined 54,000 other runners in the worlds most popular 13.1 mile run from the centre of the City to South Shields, alongside a number of well-known faces, including Gordon Ramsay, Cheryl Baker and Nell McAndrews. Kenyan runner Martin Lel took the winning title, completing the race in just 59 minutes and 32 seconds.
Sellick Partnership is actively involved in community and fundraising activities on a regular basis, and expects to raise over 5000 for the charity in 2009, which provides much needed practical, medical, emotional and financial support to those affected by cancer.
Rebecca Firth, manager at Sellick Partnership Newcastle has commented: "Given the current market, we feel it is particularly important to support charities such as Macmillan. We have also found that encouraging staff to participate in charity events provides them with the opportunity to work towards achieving a common goal, which is both motivating and promotes a one team culture.
"We have chosen to donate the money raised to Macmillan Cancer Support as everybody knows someone who has been affected by cancer. We know that the support they offer makes a huge difference to patients and their families across the North East and the rest of the UK."
