Kate Bleasdale Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Kate Bleasdale, Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of HCL plc, this week won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Business Services.

Kate was chosen by judges after a rigorous selection process in recognition of her Foresight and creativity - in founding and developing two healthcare staffing companies 1 Innovation - in pioneering Londons Medicentre walk-in clinics 2 Drive and energy in founding HCL in 2003 and making thirteen acquisitions to bring together the best known brands in the industry
3 Tenacity and experience in growing HCL organically to become the UKs largest health and social care staffing agency with widespread global operations.

Floated on AIM in 2005, HCL recently announced a 64% increase in pre-tax profits and an annualised run-rate turnover in excess of 206m.

Commenting on her success, Kate said: Im extremely honoured to have won this Award, which is also a fantastic reflection on the hard work and achievements of everyone at HCL. All of the finalists were incredibly talented entrepreneurs and it was a pleasure to meet and share ideas with like-minded people.
