23rd November 2009, London - Ambition, the leading Australian listed specialist recruitment group, recently announced that, Paddy Burtt has joined its UK subsidiary, Witan Jardine as Associate Director of its Financial Services Temporary and Contract business.Witan Jardine was acquired by Ambition Group in January 2008 and is currently in the process of transitioning to the Ambition brand. Witan Jardine is a highly respected mid size business founded in the UK 30 years ago. The Global Ambition business works with clients in offshore financial centres as well as traditional and emerging markets across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
Founded in 1999, Ambition brings international reach to Witan Jardine, with market-leading operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Burtt will be responsible for the development of the UK Financial services temporary and contract business. Whilst capitalising on the strong existing relationships within the Banking, Insurance, Investment Management and Hedge Fund industries, Burtt will look to expand the change management and Interim level offering of the business, ways to significantly grow the number of people that are contracting through Witan Jardine as well as support the drive in securing the companies position as the consultancy to go to for Financial Services recruitment in London.
Matthew Hill, Managing Director of Ambitions UK Financial Services business, Witan Jardine, added We are delighted and very excited above Paddy joining the business and with it an enormous amount of experience, talent and energy. We have a fantastic opportunity with Paddy at the helm to really drive our UK temporary and Interim business forward and I am confident he will add significant value over the coming years
Burtt commented, I am delighted to join a business like Witan Jardine and Ambition. We have a fantastic position in the London market and a strong and well-respected brand within other parts of the world and thus opportunities to bring these together over the coming months. With the temp market set to grow within Financial Services throughout 2010 and beyond, Witan Jardine/Ambition are positioning themselves at the forefront of clients and candidates minds. There is a real opportunity for us to take a strong foothold in the FS market space as competitors have struggled to maintain relationships and service levels in this unique climate. Experienced consultants are being brought into the business to bolster the teams and develop the new business opportunities that are emerging. Witan Jardine are one of a few truly international mid sized recruitment firms and this gives us a fantastic platform to leverage client relationships, offer candidates international job opportunities as well as being able to offer an exceptional employee proposition, which is allowing us to attract the best talent in the market. However, what is clear already is that we want to do this without being seen a global business that forgets our core purpose in that we are here to provide exceptional service to our customers.
Burtt has over 12 years recruitment and management experience and has operated at associate director level within a leading competitor and main board level with a couple of other niche recruitment firms.
